Air New Zealand Air Points - Upgrade

View Full Version : Upgrade

Alright he is my deal. First I am super disappointed that Air NZ wouldn't let me put all of my family's airpoints and status points into my account (4 separate doesn't equal Silver status but 4 together would get me within 20 points of Gold Status).

I put in for an upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy on NZ0006. Being Jade I know my chances are slim to none. My question is, is this a flight that would have a lot of people heading on to London Heathrow? Would that help my chances a little bit since a lot of them want to upgrade the second leg and not the first? Is there anyway for me to find out how many PE seats are open?

I'm treating this like a gift if I get it, if not I have my aisle Economy seat reserved.

Thanks in advance!

If your flight is from next month onwards, then I would say you have no chance with OneUp going into full swing from June onwards.

As for people not being able to pool together for one person to have status, well thank goodness for that lol.

Actually, they moved the date back to July 2012. So that is good news for me! ha

And about pooling together, I think it make sense for those living in 1 house to, especially parents and their kids.

Not from an airlines point of view

Kiwibank Go Fly cards (and maybe others) let you pool your family Airpoints. Of course they don't let you pool status - can't think of any FFP offhand that does.

Especially given that for a travelling family, Gold for one person means the wife and kids all get lounge access/space + seating.

Sounds like a potential solution for LoveToFlyOften then...
