Can anyone advise whether Qantas actually offers full economy on LHR to SYD flights? I want to maximise some SCs (particularly as I have a double SC offer open) and I noticed all 3 offers (Q Deal, Walkabout & Fully Flexible) are all "Discount Economy" in regards to SCs.

It is available, but the pricing is closer to that of Premium Y or Business

eg. picking some random dates in August, cheapest full Y fare.
YHFF is $5047
This on a date when $5999 Biz class is available

There is also a generic IATA fare YIF at $14,224 !!!

No, full economy pretty much cannot be booked on QF international. The only way is to book in Y+, which credits as full Y.

(I did once have a QF Customer Service agent rebook me at the last minute from LAX-SYD-MEL onto LAX-MEL direct, and she did it as Y. It was a nice extra 45 SC pickup there!)

It is quite possible to book Y if desired; just pick up the phone and purchase with Qantas or a Travel Agent. The Y fare from LHR-SYD r/t is , however, quite expensive at about GBP2126 plus taxes and fuel fines and about the same price as the cheapest premium economy ( but a lot more flexible in conditions )

Being over twice the price of the cheapest economy ticket, it would not seem a worthwhile purchase just for the SCs that it earns

and PE would earn an extra 25% in miles:cool:

(not to mention leg room, smaller cabin, wine, food etc etc etc etc)

I've long wished that the more expensive fares on QF.com earnt as full economy rather than discount, same as per domestic flights.
