I thought I'd read on here that when one renews their passport their passport number is automatically updated in their GE profile and no manual update is needed. Is that true? Or do I have to go enter my new passport info somewhere? I just received a new passport but there was no "CBP" sticker placed in it so that made me wonder. Also, can I just stop by the office at TBIT next time I'm at LAX and have a sticker added?

You should go to your account on GE and enter your new pp number. You will not need an appt. to have them (1)verify the new pp # you entered, (2)place a CBP sticker on it. [The US pp agency does not keep track of GE people, hence there was no sticker on your new pp.]

At my GE interview (about two years ago), I was told that when I got my new passport I should drop by their office and get the new passport scanned.

Yes, there are two steps:

1) log into GOES and update your profile with the new passport number (if it does not populate automatically)

2) visit a GlobalEntry Enrollment Center at your convenience (no appointment needed) and ask an officer to scan your new passport into the system and place a new CBP sticker on the inside back cover.

My stickers is on the outside back cover as are those of two associates who received theirs recently (I got mine very early on back in 08).
Just a data point to add.

They will now let you add no fee, Official or Diplo passports also with no appointment

Yes that is the simplest. That is what I do.

Thanks for the replies. Will make sure to get to LAX early next time and swing by TBIT.
