Title says most of it. What benefits should I diamond expect when staying at a Hyatt Vacation club as a standard hotel guest. (i.e. not as a time-share / condo owner.)

Well, that was my experience at the Hyatt Dorado, P.R.

Just wondered if it was typical.

How was your stay there? Did they at least acknowledge you as a Diamond?

Doesn't give any reason to stay at Hyatt Vacation Clubs.

Are you kidding? I don't think they have any clue about Gold Passport, or the status levels! Now, that's not to say that the staff isn't nice, in fact, they are incredibly nice! But I am not at all convinced that they really understand that they are part of a much larger worldwide chain.

I paid for a 1BR (as opposed to a studio) and was given a 1BR on the top floor. Awesome view. But I'm not sure if that had anything to do with being a Diamond. The place was empty, as usual, so they might just have given me a good room. Or it could be that they can see my rate was booked with hyatt.com rather than an OTA, and that might have tipped the scaled. I was once upgraded to an oceanview room at the Intercontiental in San Juan just because I was a MEMBER of Priority Club -- everyone else at check-in had very clearly booked via Expedia/Priceline/etc, so just being a MEMBER of the loyalty program got me the upgrade! So I have to wonder if it wasn't a similar situation with the Hyatt.

Either way, nothing was ever mentioned about the Diamond breakfast amenity, and I did not receive it. And when I called HGP to get the points properly posted, they informed me that there is no Welcome Amenity either.

Just seems a little strange, and was wondering if others have had similar experiences. Don't get me wrong, I like the property, and will go back, but I think Hyatt should standardize the experience or at least manage our expectations a little better.

The T&Cs talk about Residence Clubs, which appear to encompass Vacation Clubs based on other Hyatt web sites, e.g. http://www.hyattvacationclub.com/.

From the T&Cs: Diamond members staying at Hyatt Residence Club Resorts are only eligible for the following benefit(s) detailed above: 30% point bonus on the Hyatt Gold Passport base points earned, complimentary welcome amenity of 500 bonus points on every stay. According to this, you should get your base points, a 30% bonus and a 500 point amenity. No breakfast, room upgrades, etc ...

Dittto as I mentioned before but I got a room that was twice as big as any other hyatt in the area with an extra bath for about half the price. I like status but I will take pocketing the base points and $1,400 in savings any day over the free breakfast (would have had to book two rooms at a regular hyatt).

Although a "Thank you for being a loyal guest" would have been nice.

At least they did not make me park my own car.... oh wait I did!
