I got a e-mail form Accor Indonesia inviting me to this event, "World of Accor Cocktail & Loyalty Appreciation Party" (rsvp required) which will be held in Pullman Jakarta Central Park on 22 May. I think I got it because of my Advantage Plus membership.

Anyone have an experience of such an event? This is the first time I've heard of it. Since I can't attend the event, I would love to hear what is it like. :)

I happen to be staying at the hotel and I am the advantage plus member as well. Can I join? What time is the event?

Neither do I...but I'm planning to call the CP on the email on Monday and I'll post about it here.

It will be held on Tuesday, 22 May 2012 on 19.00 - 21.00

"World of Accor" has been going for some years. It is Accor's showcase event for corporate and industry buyers (largely in Asia).

http://www.worldofaccor.com

This is the first time I have heard that they invite loyalty guests (there is one event in London in November, I wonder if Europe based Le Club members will get an invite)

Cool. I didn't know that this is a yearly industry event. I see in that site that they will also have an event in SIN. Wonder if I can get an invite for that...

For sure. I have called both, Accor Indonesia and Pullman Central Park. Accor Indonesia CP said that there will be expo for all day and will be filled by Accor properties from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore while there will be cocktail and dinner party on 19.00 - 21.00. There would be also lucky draw for prizes (hopefully 100,000,000 Le Club Points or whatever equals) lol..
:D

actualy i am moving from accor to starwood right now since the starwood since easy to reach and more benefit with the spg gold (like free internet that very important to me :D)

i just hope accor fix the leclub program so much chain hotel like novotel and mercusre can get the elite benefit like room upgrade not just pulman, sofitel, etc.

Agree. No reason why Novotel and Mercure cannot do upgrades like Sofitels for the Platinums, if the rooms are available. If they are able to do that, they will be able to challenge the likes of Starwood, Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, and PC.

Agree. No reason why Novotel and Mercure cannot do upgrades like Sofitels for the Platinums, if the rooms are available.

The problem is that, in most Novotel & Mercure, all rooms are strictly identical. So no real upgrade possible. But there are possibilities to give for free extra amenities (internet, breakfast, bathrobe, etc).

Agree. I think a free breakfast and/or Internet for Gold/Platinum members would very much appreciated.

yeah, internet is critical. how come a price of 24 hour internet at hotel can around quarter or even half of room price.

That is not true. Some Novotels and Mercures have Club Lounges and Suites.
So upgrade is still possible.

And Free Internet and Breakfast (at least Continental Breakfast at Club Lounges) should be a must, at least at their Platinum levels. Else, they will always be behind the major chains.

Accor has decent properties. If they play their loyalty program correctly, they will be a major force to reckon with.

Hi all!

Yea, I visited the World of Accor & Loyalty Appreciation Party Jakarta on that night. Frankly speaking, it was just an ordinary party for hotel associates. As a loyalty member, I was expecting more since it was stated as an event title. However, it turns out to please their local partners. :o

There was a grand launching of Indonesian version of Accorhotels website and they claimed to be the first international hotel chain to have Indonesian website (eventhough I knew that Swiss-Belhotel from Hong Kong was the first to do so) :p. There were also some draw prizes and grand prize (return flight to Paris and accommodation for 5 nights in Paris) but I didn't win any...:(

Actually there was nothing to write home about since there wasn't any special moment for Loyalty members as it was stated on the event title. :td:

Couldn't agree more, I don't know how Novotel and Mercure in Europe, but both of the brands are positioned as four star hotels in Asia-Pacific and most of them have their own Executive Lounge and Suite rooms. If they could extend the benefits for Le Club Members to Novotel and Mercure, they would rock their competitors ^

I hope someone from Accor is reading this and is doing something about it. I do hope Accor becomes a major chain.
Upgrade their Plats to Club Floors and Suites, and extend complimentary Internet and Breakfast. I can imagine suddenly, Accor will see a crazy surge in occupancy.
