Will be flying out of Marco Polo on 6JUL at 10:55AM. I have read the lines are long and expect to wait up to 3 hours. What is the suggest time to arrive at the airport prior to a international flight?

what airline? i have never been there when delta is loading their translantic, so i don't know what that looks like. LH seems to have the largest lines, and the few times we have had the luxury of flying out at 1100, the line was maybe 30 min. somebody else surely has been on your flight in recent times and will know better.
most of our experience is on 6-7 am flights. the gates open about an hour before takeoff. get there at 5am, and the place is deserted.
in my experience, vce gates are run by vce personnel, not by personnel from the specific airline. same is true for blq and flr and psa. the airport is very small and the staff very personable. the gates are close, and one is bussed from gate to the plane.
not like bcn, where while we were getting there....G-13 10 minutes with an arrow that way.

We are flying out on Tyrolean Airlines, OS, a turboprop, for Lufthansa to VIE.

we took that flight in jan. line quite short. arrived with 2 hrs to spare(wife is a real worrier). went to lounge, and to gate when called. get a map of vie. when we were there in jan, no directions to gates. lousy confusing gate numbering system. not a whole lot of time between connections. unlike vce, this airport is spread over miles and miles, with very long tunnels between gates.
as i recall, the vie vce connection had a 30 min connection time, and we had to go through security.

The check in counter for your flight won't actually be open 3 hrs before departure. It *might* be open 2 hrs before departure (but possibly only 90 minutes prior) so I would plan to arrive c. 9 am.

DL now has the following posted on their website....
• Marco Polo Airport in Venice (VCE) is experiencing very high passenger volume, which is expected to continue throughout the summer cruise season. Please do not arrive at the airport more than three (3) hours prior to your scheduled departure time.
Notice that it asks for psgrs to stay clear of the fray until 3 hours prior.
