Ia Orana all !

Following returns from customers who filled out the onboard survey AF has decided to improve the meal experience in Premium Voyageur. From Paris the starters and desserts will be Alizé style. From all international stations they will be Business Class starters. They will be served on the same tray in the Voyageur crockery.
Also, if the case, depending on the length of the flight, same as in Business Class, Chocolates will be offered during the flight.

I am sure all of you will appreciate the change !

This is very good news indeed ^ and brings increased differentiation between Economy and Premium Voyageur. Many thanks for the update :).

Flying from CUN to CDG near the end of June so we will see if the implementation will go smoothly!

Well, the differentiated food offering for Alizé has been here for quite some time. So extending the approach to Premium Voyageur is consistent with AF's cabin structure, although it should have been implemented earlier.

So, if you are flying on a PE-type product, get your starter and dessert from AF and your main dish from BA. I'll let you work out the logistics of jumping from one plane to another mid-meal. :)

I personally think it is a bit more of a policy departure than that. There was that interview on the corporate website last year of an AF product person explaining that PV and Alize corresponded to two very different philosophies (precisely to justify not offering better meals on PV!). He was saying that Alize was all about getting a better service while PV was essentially meant to be an economy service with a much better (in his view) seat. I would be extremely surprised if the source of this policy progress was not the announcement by BA a few months ago (as mentioned by NickB above) that they were now making WTP a 'real' premium experience by serving the Club World mains in that cabin. In fact in relation to that and the other thread on this topic, I was talking to a Chef d'Escale (of a relatively important escale as far as that goes) last week and he told me that they keep hearing about BA at the moment, which again, I think is a rather good thing! :)

A few people, including me, have voiced that idea to some of the VPs that were in the MegaDo a few weeks ago.
Did not know it was already about to be implemented!

A very welcome improvement. PV lacks a bit of style, and after downgrading the amenity kits it is nice to get something back. Although I still think they should also bring back the business class amenity kit and upgrade the crokery...

Will they also offer those improved meals as they plan to do in economy for a fee?

Report: the starters were slightly improved: two small pieces of smoked duck breast over what looked very much like a economy starter (orzo salad) towards Paris, smoked salmon and veggies from Paris. Overall not excessively fancy.

Pretty nice dessert pastries, I liked that. I think I slept through the chocolates.

The rest of the meal was classic coach (note: a bag of apple slices, probably to go with the camembert, is that new?). The tray seemed a bit larger, there was a fancy "Premium Voyageur" menu.

Still, it doesn't improve the seats (PV) through by serving a few extra fancy slices of this and that, which I believe is the main thing one would pay for.
