Alitalia MilleMiglia - How far in advance can I book an award ticket?

I'm trying to get three Rome-JFK business class tickets 11 months from now (April 4, 2013). I called today (330 days out) but the rep said I was too early. I asked whether the booking date had to be within 10 months, and she said maybe 8-9 months. In the past when I asked, they said 10-11 months, so obviously they don't know.
Does anyone know if there's a fixed period?
I plan to transfer Amex MR to book the award tickets. Right now, I can book business class on Iberia, but it's not non-stop (Rome-Madrid-JFK). I would prefer Alitalia non-stop (saves at least 2 hours) but I don't want to wait too long and then lose the Iberia award tickets.
Thanks.

I booked two round trip business class award tickets MCO-JFK-FCO-TIA on 08/23/11. Travel dates are 06/01/12 to 06/26/12. But these were booked using Delta Skymiles. Hope this helps.

The date can never be certain. Bookings for the W12/13 period were "opened" a few months ago, for the S13 period (incl. April) you probably have to wait until around August or September.

From that, I compute 308 days from 8/23/11 to 6/26/12, which is 308 days. So, if that's applied consistently, it means I can book on June 1, which is just a couple of weeks away.
I'm pretty sure that when you use Delta miles to fly on Alitalia, the Alitalia policy for the number of days in advance you can book (rather than Delta's) applies.
Thanks for the info.

Wouldn't be that certain, you may well have to wait until the 23rd of August.

Oh, so they use the JetBlue model, where on a certain day, they start taking reservations for several more months. I hadn't thought of that. I was thinking it worked like AA, where it is strictly formulaic -- 331 days in advance.

Well, either my calculations were correct or I got lucky because I just reserved 3 business class seat for April 5, 2013, which is 304 days from today.

Great, wasn't aware of bookings being available so early!
