I'll be spending 3 nights in Uppsala in the fall and am wondering if anyone has stayed in any of the hotels there before.
Thanks.

I would recommend staying in Stockholm and take the train to Uppsala.

Yeah, I thought about that, but the 45-50 minute train ride and the early mornings would make it difficult. Stockholm is great, though...

There is a Radisson Blu next door from the Central station. This place is brand new and probably your best bet. I used to live in Uppsala when I was at university and have stayed at Clarion Gillet afterwards. It's not that bad but if the Radisson Blu is like other Radisson Blus it will be better.

Btw,
don't stay in Stockholm.

Back in 2006 we stayed in the Park Inn. It was a wonderful experience for us, with the hotel's tie in to the crafts industry. Small rooms suited us fine and we moved the two single beds together. The front desk was helpful with our need to book a taxi to take us out in the country. The breakfast buffet was fun with food that I'd never seen before. The hotel location was convienent to the train and bus station, and it was a good experience to have the arab neighborhood nearby, as well as local grocery store. Walking to places was a breeze.

I could babble on more than you would want to know :). But my 2 cents says stay in Upsalla as you will get a different experience than in Stockholm.

Hope this helps.

You know that there is a friends & family rate for Carlson (Radisson) hotels?
