Would I be better off at the VN lounge or the Apricot? Which has decent free internet?

Relatively fast enough to be useful internet in the VN lounge at SGN international departure. They also have quite a large selection of food and beverages including tropical juices, sparkling wine and Viet style coffee. It is also bright and airy with large windows overlooking the tarmac.

I have not been in Apricot lounge so I cannot comment on them.

The VN lounge has usable internet but keep your expectations low for the food. This lounge seems to be a contract lounge, though.

Wifi is OK at all of the SGN lounges in my experience.

Overall the VN airlines lounge seems the least bad vs the Rose or Apricot lounges. Bad food, bad wine, and warm beer are the order of the day at SGN unfortunately.

VN lounge at least manages to keep their fridge cold.

Can't compare as I don't think I've been in the VN lounge. But I think the comments re. Rose lounge food are a tad harsh. I rather like the selection but it is poor relative to what Saigon could offer, I suppose.

Internet is pretty much on a par with most places in VN.

I do find it rather warm, but the aircon outlet is on the wall. A few seconds standing there and one cools down.

I'm posting from the VN lounge which is quite nice. Decent Bordeaux white wine which is in a bucket of ice, so nice and cold (I tried the Viet wine but...). Great views of the runway and apron and the Internet is just fine. Live Orchids and very comfy seating. ^

The food is fine, but no Pho. Air conditioning is perfect.

Trying Viet wine? you are brave and adventurous.

VN SGN lounge can use a Pho Bar. All the other Asian airlines has noodle bars at their home airport lounge.

It is a hard life, but we hope you don't mind, someone had to do it

Later I saw some weird setup in the lounge. There was a pot with a sign on it that said "DO NOT PUT FOOD IN HERE". And some ingredients nearby. I'm not sure, but maybe it was a DIY Pho setup. I was too tired to try and figure it out though.

Yep, that's the DIY pho thing. Always staff on hand to help (IME).

That is a DIY "hotpot", it is the closest you will get to real Pho at SGN.
