You know it was going to happen. almost all vestiges of YX are disappearing quickly. The hangers are now going...going...

Many of us will remember the YX Do we had there several years ago. Ahh, good times.

This will be the end of all Frontier maintenance and reservation call center operations at MKE - probably moving to Colorado.
The end is near!

I wonder if anyone will actually be interested in these hangers. The main ones on the west side are too small it fit 737s. The Airbus just barely fit in there.

My guess if they do get sold it won't be to a major carrier.

Structure is also probably being marketed to other types of users for warehouse, light manufacturing, distribution, etc., not just for use as a hangar.

The Old Skyway hanger off layton was leased to Air Cargo Carriers for two years, but for the last 6 months or so it has been empty. I would imagine there has to be something in the lease to the airport that the hanger be used for aircraft, that lesson was learned with the GA hangers on the eastside. Several of those hangers are just used as storage and not any aircraft.

A couple of years ago you could have switched the two locations.
It weakens F9's credibility when "shopping" for tax breaks.

Over the last few weeks, the GSE (tugs, belt loaders, GPUs, baggage carts) are all slowly being trucked off the airport. Its quite the sad sight to see.

Very sad, as most of that was formerly YX equipment.

The Bedford betrayal continues.
It started with Timmy and the Minneapolis betrayal.

I loved flying Midwest back in the day. Hated to see them get consumed.....
It started with Timmy and the Minneapolis betrayal.
Nah, it started from the moment Tim thought an airline would work in the long run hubbing in MKE. It is really just another airline littering the landscape of history. Just like NW, CO, and eventually F9 itself.

Air Cargo Carriers has actually leased more space at the old 440th ANG base.
Leasing space is funny at airports... one entity may have the lease on the land but own the structure. If it's airport owned yes certificate holders trump even GA... for the larger landing fees etc.

Take it for what it is worth but I have heard Jetblue has been in town to check out the hangers.
