Hawaii-based Airlines - Help with Hawaiian inter-island booking change

I held a booking HNL-OGG-KOA/ITO-HNL. Booked this intentionally instead of a direct HNL-KOA to see some more local airports on Hawaii along the way, as the place is rather exotic for me (coming from central Europe). Now, I've just received an email from Hawaiian about a flight change. It appears the OGG-KOA segment has been cancelled as I was rebooked to OGG-HNL-KOA instead, i.e. the complete outbound booking now looks like this: HNL-OGG-HNL-KOA, which I'm afraid is significantly less attractive, given the fact that it's all happening in a single morning. What would the local experts suggest? Call Hawaiian directly and ask them to change it to an earlier connection? It's a dirt cheap fare so I'm wondering if they would insist on some rebooking fees etc. Thanks!

I called them yesterday and they changed it to another flight for the day for free and without hassle.

Also, I'm doing the same. Flying into KOA and flying out of ITO. :) I'm staying one night in Kona (though now my time is shorter in Kona but I don't mind) and 2 nights in Hilo with an early morning flight out of Hilo. What are you planning on doing?

Thanks, will give them a ring ^
Well, only have 3 days on the Big Island. Will do some diving with mantas, then some volcanic sightseeing/hiking and that will be it pretty much I believe.
