I had an email with this offer for flights booked in discount economy leaving in 14 days (similar to the J to F: Make us an offer (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/etihad-airways-etihad-guest/1340382-j-f-make-us-offer.html)).

Does anyone have experience of what level of offer would be accepted?

I wonder whether it is an auction with the highest offers accepted so they fly full in J, or whether there is some minimum level the offer has to be?

Are there no T's & C's with the offer?

Are there no T's & C's with the offer?

There are T&C (http://www.etihadairways.com/sites/Etihad/global/en/promotions/Pages/upgrade-yourself-TnC_mar12.aspx) and an FAQ (http://www.etihadairways.com/sites/Etihad/global/en/promotions/Pages/upgrade-yourself-FAQ_mar12.aspx). In particular:

To receive an online upgrade, you should have:

• Booked your flight 14 days prior to departure
• Booked your flight directly with Etihad either on www.etihad.com, through Etihad call centers or Etihad Shops.
• You should have a confirmed Pearl Business Class or Coral Economy Class ticket.
• Preference is given to those guests who have booked a higher fare in Pearl Business Class or Coral Economy Class.

On the segment that you have been upgraded to Pearl Business Class, you are eligible to carry 40 kgs and you can carry additional baggage based on your tier within Etihad Guest programme. You are entitled to priority boarding and check-in, access to our Pearl Business Class lounges in Abu Dhabi, London Heathrow, Manchester, Dublin or Frankfurt. Etihad chauffeur services will not be available for upgrade from Coral Economy Class to Pearl Business Class.

I am a short-notice biz tix booker, typically around 3 days before departure. Most recently, paid biz has been systematically booked up on ANY Etihad flight I tried to book (to London and Frankfurt).

Is this because of all these "Y to C" el-cheapo upgraders? Why is Etihad doing this? Or just bad luck (though I never had bad luck so systematically).

When you go through to the 'make an offer' page, you'll see some sliders which will have a minimum start figure.

For the J-F upgrade, it started at £380 OW as the minimum bid, and the maximum was £750.

I'd imagine the Y-J option would start around £250.

Personally, I'd happily pay up to £300 OW to move from Y-J if the flight was over 6 hours.

I wasn't so sure about moving J-F, but I did make an offer, just because it would be a cheap way to experience EY's F product, as I haven't flown it before.

If they become my regular carrier, I won't pay for J-F, though.

Thanks (there was no hint of a range in the email I received). So I have checked and found that the range offered for Y to J is:

LHR-AUH (7 hours): £350-650 (+£65 tax ex LHR)
AUH-ICN (9 hours): £280-550

I might try a low bid AUH-ICN.

I'm not an expert, but from talking to people who have successfully done this, I'd be bidding around £320.

Has anyone successfully made an offer and accepted for SIN-BNE? What should be the offer range - I hear J is relatively empty on this route, so the chance of being accepted is quite high.
