Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - Trying to work around a TG schedule change

I'm deliberately going to be a little vague.

From another carrier, I bought an award ticket in C on TG from BKK to CMB for travel on Day 1.

26-hours in CMB.

Depart TG on a revenue ticket to BKK on Day 3 in C, onto SIN on TG, and then connect on another non-Star airline to a third city for a long-haul flight.

TG cancelled service to CMB on Day 1 and I have been protected to Day 2. My day in CMB is now the turnaround time for the aircraft (about 1-1/2 hours).

Since I lost my day in CMB, I'd prefer to skip the BKK-CMB-BKK segments and just check-in at BKK on Day 3 for the flight to SIN.

I don't want a refund of the miles or money for the BKK-CMB-BKK flights. Obviously, for this ticket, starting in CMB is much cheaper.

If I approach TG in advance at the BKK city ticket office, what do you think my chances are of getting them to allow me to start travel from BKK on Day 3?

How do I document it so I don't hosed at the airport when I check-in for my flight to SIN?

.

No need to be vague we all know how it work and so too do Thai, must be the last BD award and were they not a heap of fun. Quick answer is, if you don't do the first hop, the rest are history, but I guess you knew that too

Understand that is the regular rule.

Was hoping because TG changed its schedule eliminating my 24-hour stopover between flights that they would allow me to violate that rule.

I understand they wouldn't do it if I was trying to change my schedule, but this is effectively an involuntary reroute situation due to a schedule change after ticketing.

The award ticket to CMB is not the reason for the vagueness issue. The revenue ticket out of CMB is.

You may have a point, but don;t build your hopes up. I buy my tickets in cambodia and mynamar, and i know the problems you can have, getting to a departure point. I have a stack, maybe 20, of BKK-RGn and BKK-PNh, which are the back ends of the tickets, the reverse of your problem, I keep them valid for as long as I can, but TG will do zilch, well they were dirt cheap. If you don't ask the question you will never know, so give it a go.
