I hope it doesn't suck. :) Series premier on Wednesday night on Bravo. Thanks for the reminder. I saw a teaser for it last night on TAR, or maybe it was Iron Chef. I'll give it a shot. jpetekYXMD80 May 10, 12, 4:25 am I randomly found this late tonight, when they were in London. Knew nothing about what it was supposed to be, but it was decent. It really is a lot of popular concepts rolled together. I don't think i'll be making a point to watch it, but i'd find it enjoyable as captive audience on the IFE. Maybe if i'm really interested in the place they're in I would watch. Doubtfully to care whether who gets 'voted off' this week. They should bring Jeff Probst along for the ride. milepig May 10, 12, 9:28 am I was at a dinner last night and missed this, but from the [annoyingly hard to use] Brave website it's being repeated several times over the next few days. pseudoswede May 10, 12, 9:31 am Just like Top Chef: Just Desserts, this show seems to be more about who can manipulate the most versus how well they can actually cook in the kitchen. My interpretation of the challenges were that all teams members had to finish eating the dishes and finish their drinks, yet it appears most chefs only took sips (except the beer one). The Black Team failed immensely: if you got cash for a cab, why not use it? Unless said-cash could be applied towards your food purchases for The Takeover, which it appears it wasn't. Absolutely loved it when The Red Team got their commupance with the foreshadowing by the pub owner. chgoeditor May 10, 12, 11:07 am I thought it was so-so, but was probably disappointed because I was expecting something more akin to Amazing Race format with a focus on food challenges. Unless the travel aspect has a more significant role in the next episode, this is really Top Chef where the contestants are brought to the chefs and not vice versa. pseudoswede May 10, 12, 10:34 pm BBC America's No Kitchen Required looks more intriguing. On Tuesdays. csufabel May 11, 12, 12:12 am BBC America's No Kitchen Required looks more intriguing. On Tuesdays. That show is not very good either. I do not care about the chefs or the food presented today. As far as this Bravo show, I was more shocked with the look Bravo gave to Cat Cora. I did not know it was her on the trailers. She has sold out. pseudoswede May 18, 12, 10:53 am All of the chefs are unbearable except for Avery and Gary. The challenges this time around were better--much more Amazing Race-ish. I am actually looking forward to next week's episode because we are going to Barcelona this summer. pseudoswede May 25, 12, 10:09 am Like the challenges, not the chefs. None of them can hold a candle to even the worst ones featured on Top Chef. skchin May 28, 12, 10:44 pm Was able to see London and Paris episodes on youtube. lpatron Jul 27, 12, 4:53 pm I watched the entire season and it was okay - not great but not the worst cooking show out there. I liked the travel aspect (shocking for a FT member I know) and they did seem to make an effort to highlight lesser known local dishes. The "game" was interesting to watch and see someone like Nookie get so far by being shrewd. skchin Jul 28, 12, 10:54 pm Too much swearing. tentseller Jul 30, 12, 10:55 am Too much swearing. You, Sir, have not spent enough time in a restaurant kitchen. :D Sweet Willie Jul 30, 12, 12:35 pm All of the chefs are unbearable except for Avery and Gary.too funny, I found Avery blah blah blah blah UGH. :D I watched the entire season and it was okay - not great but not the worst cooking show out there. I really didn't care for any of the chefs & Cat looked quite stuffy on most of the shows. pseudoswede Aug 1, 12, 1:58 pm Too much swearing. You, Sir, have not spent enough time in a restaurant kitchen. :D I watched Hell's Kitchen in Sweden (the US version aired on Fox), and they do not censor the words. |
