Marriott Rewards (including Ritz-Carlton) - Same Hotel: No rooms on Marriott.com but rooms on Travelocity - options?

The title says it all - no Plat override for me since I dropped to Gold for 2012 - Marriott.com says no rooms available, but Travelocity will let me book 3 rooms for the same nights, at a decent rate.
I'd rather book on Marriott.com for obvious reasons - any ideas?

Call the hotel directly & see if they'll take the reservation.

I can only assume that Travelocity prepurchased a block of rooms from the hotel at a set price and they have not yet sold on Travelocity.
As Sharon said, call the hotel.
Possible strategy: You may want to get only one room from the hotel booked in a status that earns night/point credits and then get the other two rooms through Travelocity.

In this situation you will probably find that if you try and purchase the rooms on Travelocity it will determine that there are no rooms left and inform you that they cannot complete the purchase for you and to choose a different hotel.

Last week I was researching a post and found doing the area search showed no availability but when I pulled up the property page and searched availability rooms showed up.
This is a problem for Marriott in that I won't pull up each property to see if there are rooms there unless I have a particular desire. This means lost revenue for MI.

Call hotel directly and see if you can book 3 rooms. If they say 'yes' and the rate is higher than Travelocity, book it anyway and then submit a Look No Further claim. If approved, you will get 25% off the cheaper rate.

two things happened
1) Travelocity's cache is out of date (it only searches active inventory when you actually attempt to complete the reservation)
2) MI's programmers....should be resolved shortly (define shortly as you wish)
