I got an email yesterday saying that there's a sale on miles, which means you could get TACA or Avianca J US-SA for $1.300 or something around if you look enough.
Lifemiles are $30 per 1000 miles, with this promo you'll get an additional 1000 miles. The promo lasts until the end of may, and only members who were enrolled in LM as of may 1st can buy miles.
As an example:
SCL-MEX ow Y goes for 19.500 LM
SCL-LAX/MIA ow J goes from 44.000 LM
(yes, ow is permitted)
