I am flying in two weeks ORD-ICN-ORD. Have not seen reports of the current seating in this 777 Business Class. The OZ web site is unclear as to whether lie flat 180, or flat 165 seats are being used.
Recent trip reports?

Flew ICN-ORD on 5/9 and it is the 165 lie-flat. Do not think there have been any reports of QS seating appearing on the ORD route.

I just got off from the ORD to ICN flight yesterday, no AVOD, no quadra smartium. Gate agent told me they might have those features come July.

might
I am still hopeful they will have Smartium by October ex ORD
Just got off OZ 236 ICN-ORD. Still old angled lie-flat with crappy IFE (non-AVOD, perhaps the worst selection of movies).. but service / soft product was outstanding, as usual. Noticed that the jeonbokjuk they served in the lounge was the same as the breakfast option. :)

Sorry for the bump. I tried looking on the OZ website and that was no help. Is there a way of knowing if the QS seats are being used on a flight (ORD-ICN) on a friday in November?

Is that M, W, F out of ORD? Planning a Friday-departure in August. Will go with AC unless the QS seat is there (which I'd take just for the variety!).

must be. I'm on a Wed departure ex ICN, and it arrives into ORD on a Wed, so must go back same day.

I just put up a TR of my ICN-LHR trip in the new QS - you might find some of it interesting...

thanks for the report. Interesting picture of the apron from the lounge - same as for me last year - all I could see, from the Asiana Lounge, was wall-to-wall Korean Air jets! (You'd think they might have parked some of their own planes in front! :))
Re the heat, I hate hot cabins. Any luck with asking them if they could turn it down? (just interested as I have a flight coming up with OZ in a few weeks time)

The heat was terrible on all the flights. I was slightly cantankerous as a result. Ferral.
Requests to turn down the air-con fell on deaf ears - occasionally it would drop a couple of degrees, but it would heat up again within the hour. A lot of asian carriers have this problem... and Etihad (the hottest cabins i've ever been in)

hmmm :( I carry a pair of VS PJs with me to help with the heat, but even those can be a bit too hot for me. i take it no overhead air vents?
edit - I've just had a look at a promo picture - looks like the suites might have an air vent.

Are the QS seats still just on the M/W/F flights ex-ORD?

Although if they were that would explain why the Sunday flight was the only freaking OZ flight in early May that I could still find business class award availability for a US redemption. Well, guess I'm taking it for better at worse at this point. Thank god I can't sleep on a plane no matter what the seat type ;)

Because there is only 1 plane, 1 plane cannot fly both directions 7 days a week !

Yes, understood. I guess what I am asking is whether the QS seats are now also on the other plane that flies the route on the non-M/W/F flights?

Ah well. Not quite as nice as the NH 787 I was supposed to be flying on, but still better than the NH 787 I was supposed to be flying on if it was on fire. See, all about priorities!
