I've recently booked a SIN-CDG-MEX Voyageur return on AF.. and got the A380 on both SIN-CDG outbound and CDG-SIN inbound (a good thing since I get the privilege of flying one or two of the 7 A380s that has joined the AF stable) :)

my CDG-MEX is operated by a B747 outbound and 772 inbound *the 2330h flight as AF435 as opposed to the codeshared AF437 or AF439 on the B747 that leaves at 8+pm*

just curious, out of the 7 B747s that are still in service, are their Voyageur/economY cabin interiors brought up to date into this era (with mod-cons like PTVs and so on in newish seats) or they are still the "endangered" retro ones as seen on a cabin plan in the AF website (overhead screens with no PTVs in Y, very 1990s in my view)

AF 747 has an economy class on the upperdeck, which has PTV. Economy downstairs dont have PTV and only overhead screens. Its best to do OLCI as soon as it comes available, in order to select a seat on the upperdeck.

Elites used to have a privilege to choose these seats earlier, but thats not possible anymore I think.

I'm actually flying the same leg MEX-CDG and when I found out I had to have luck with OLCI, decided to take the later 772 flight. I love the 747 on KL, since you have the private cabin in EC! But I avoid the AF one, since it's just lottery to get the seats you actually want.

On AF 744 network MEX (and GIG) are having priority to get 744 with PTV in all cabin/area (GITH/I/J).

AFAIK, they have not been retrofitted but were delivered directly with PTV at all Y seats

I haven't confirmed it, but I noticed on my upcoming 744 filght in September that the seat map in the affaires cabin changed from a 2-3-2 seat config (in the rear affaires section) to a 2-2-2. My guess is this is a indication that it will be the upgraded/retrofitted 744. See if you can check the seat map for affaires on your flight, this should let you know what type of cabin you'll have.

Boston and San Francisco in my experience. I think Miami also.

I think you can see them anywhere a 744 flies. I had them also to MRU and YUL.
