Luxury Hotels - Kiev Luxury hotels

Dear all,

As mentioned in the post on Hilton Kiev (still being constructed), there is no post mentioning all luxury accommodation options in Kiev/Kyiv for the time being.

The possibilities are:

1. Hyatt Regency (the best in my opinion)

2. IC Kiev (good)

3. Premier Palace (over-rated and expensive)

4. Opera (outdated and expensive)

5. Fairmont (nice, new but very expensive)

6. Radisson Blu: can't really be called a luxury hotel but ok


I've stayed twice at the IC and about 10 times at the HR (Hyatt Regency) and largely prefer the latter.

IC review
Club King Executive with city view
220 EUR per night with a corporate rate + 40 EUR per night to be upgraded from King deluxe with club access (comp for IC RA) to the Club King Executive with city view (well worth the extra cost).

Positive aspects:
- Well located
- Very good food and restaurant
- Excellent breakfast
- Nice view from the room
- 52 sqm room is more than enough

Negative:
- Very slow room service (around 1 hour)
- Somehow uncaring reception/concierge desk when they see that you are not "new rich/Russian"

2nd night free offer only applies at the Fairmont Kiev, but most other Fairmont hotels have a 3rd/4th night free offer.

While I despise the Opera, the rooms are much nicer than those photos you posted of the Hyatt.

I'm not a very good photographer to say the least and the rooms are very nice.

I asked to see three different rooms at the Opera and didn't like any but it's also a matter of taste

I've been traveling to Kiev annually for the past ~18 years. Will be staying at Hyatt in few weeks.

OP's post is a pretty accurate assessment of the current state of hotels in Kiev, though I still hesitate to call them "luxury" basing it on level of service, most of all.

I definitely agree with you on the fact that most hotels in Kiev cannot really be called Luxury hotels. They're more like 4-5 star hotels

Just completed a 5 night stay here and I don't know if it's the euro cup that made a difference but level of service was nothing short of excellent! Really impressed this time around. I hope things don't go back after the tournament is finished :D

Currently staying at IC Kiev
The 55 sqm king club room is very nicely appointed (large room, small bathroom, separate desk, 2 balconies with view over the city).
Very well located. Excellent service.
Very good club lounge.
Very enjoyable stay
