Hertz - If i pre pay for a rental online with a discount code

and once i get the to the rental place and want to upgrade do i pay the difference with the same discount or do i pay it from what it would normally cost?

I normally pre pay online and I have upgraded at the same discounted rate when picking up, I have also have changed pre paid reservations once they are made, and got the same discount on a much larger choice of cars.

im suprised they upgrade you at the discount price when youre at the location? as im thinking of pre paying for a toyota corolla and then once i get to lax if they have a crown vic which i want ill upgrade, but if its something else ill just have the corolla.

Depends on the discount. If you're using a CDP you have no claim to (e.g. a company you have no relation to/affiliation with), you're not putting yourself in a good position if problems arise.

That being said, you are most certainly allowed to use coupon codes and rate quotes advertised on the Hertz Special Offers (http://www.hertz.com/rentacar/specialoffers/index.jsp?targetPage=specialOffersPerCategoryView. jsp) page.

You can use any discount code you can find.

It's up to Hertz to determine if they will honor it or not based on if they feel you should be using it or not. There's always a risk of them asking for verification on discount codes, if for example it's only for AAA members and you can't show you are a member.... Though they hardly ever ask.
