Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - Transiting DXB from SQ to Gulfair

A question about changing airlines at DXB.

We'll arrive into DXB on SQ with our next flight on Gulfair. We have 3 hours.

Can our luggage be checked all the way through from SIN to BAH?

If the luggage doesn't go through, do we need to clear customs, collect bags and then check in at the Gulfair counter(s)?

Any experience on the return journey, checking-in at BAH on Gulfair to DXB to travel to SIN on SQ.

This is a new part of the world fo rme, so I'm grateful for people to share their experiences.

Unfortunately Gulf Air is not a check-in partner of SQ. So you will need to check in your bags to Dubai, pick them up and check in again with gulf air. Same on the way back.

Thanks JohnSIN. When I did the bookings I was assuming I would be needing the time for that. I have 4.5 hrs one transit & 6.5 hours the other. With that much time I think I wil make it.

Sorry .. info is incorrect. If you read the above , it means you can do online thru check in on the mentioned carriers IF the GF is on a SQ ticket. It does not mean that you cannot check luggage thru.

SO, in effect, Albatross710 can check your luggage thru to final destination provided you show your connecting flight to the check in agent ...

I think i need to clarify this with you two.

so, when i go to SIN airport and check-in with SQ, I'll be carrying an SQ booking to DXB and then a separate DXB-BAH Gulfair booking.

SQ will be able to tag my bags to BAH via DXB.

I'll do a web check-in for the Gulfair flight. (I may not be able to do this until I get to SilverKris.)

When i get to DXB I'll stay airside and enjoy the hospitality while my bags transit.

You can check-in for Gulfair at one of the transit desks.

Don't know cos I have a GDS. But generally most scheduled carriers can interline with SQ.
