Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am the team leader for the Ambassador Program for FlyerTalk. The time is upon us to launch the Ambassador Program to the SkyTeam Forum - given that the program has been running successfully in the OW Forum. We are yet to deploy in *A.

Your forum Mod, ralfkrippner and I are keen to find some passionate folks who are regulars on the SkyTeam board to volunteer to be forum Ambassadors.

What does an Ambassador do?

Well, as the name would suggest, your principal role is to welcome new members, point folks in the right direction, provide program advice and generally be a model FT citizen.

In return, you get to "wear" the Ambassador title under your handle and be recognised as one of FT's most valuable members.

Many of the forums engage with the airline/hotel/tourism board directly. This is to help foster relationships between themselves and FT.

So that total transparency is maintained, I will outline below the criteria which you must meet in order to become a SkyTeam Ambassador.

1. You must not have been suspended during your time here on FT. If you have received a "warning" only for posting behaviour, this will be reviewed by the Mods. You need to put your posting history warnings/suspensions in context - as will we when we review your suitability. Being warned or suspended is not the sole deciding criteria for becoming an Ambassador.
2. You should have status within the program (or within one of the 15 Alliance members). Not everyone needs to be Elite/Platinum. Bottom line, is that you need to be familiar with all aspects of one of the participarting SkyTeam members and have a good understanding of the Alliance in general, the onboard product across DL/KLM/Korean etc, lounge network, airports etc etc
3. Your post count is considerable. That is, you didn't join FT 2-3 months ago
4. You generate content and contribute to a wide range of discussions
5. Ambassadors will be drawn from the regions in which the program operates. That is, we will be appointing both US based and non US based people.
6. SkyTeam Staff - we're looking for Ambassadors who represent our members interest. It's not to say that we don't think you could (or can) provide a balanced interest, we just want to avoid putting you in an awkward position.
7. Term - initial appointment is for 12-months and is automatically renewed (unless you choose not to continue).
8. Good Practices Document - you read and acknowledge the Good Practices Document. This will be sent to you once you indicate your interest.

If you would like to know more, and think this is something you would be interested in applying for, please send me a PM. Or your Forum Mod, ralfkrippner

Finally, appointment of all SkyTeam Ambassadors rests with the Moderator of the forum entirely, as well as final sign-off by Carol (SanDiego1K) our Community Director. Decisions will be final.

If you have any questions at all re the Ambassador Program, please do not hesitate to contact me via PM.

Regards

SIMON
