Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - Ethiopian Business or BA Premium Economy?

I have to get from SJC to ADD, which I can do either with Ethiopian or BA.
Having never flown Ethiopian before, I'm curious how their business class compares to BA's WTP. Any thoughts?
Any help to make this 30+ hour journey bearable would be greatly appreciated.

With all due respect, I believe this TR is not really that accurate. Check aircraft type - if the IAD-ADD flight (I assume you will fly via IAD) is operated with B777 they will have fully flat seats - that are at least as comfortable (if not more) than BA NGCW (Next Generation Club World - Business Class). Ethiopian is a *A member so you can credit flights to UA or US program - these would be EQM's. So for me the choice would be obvious: ET in Business.

I would choose Ethiopian Airlines. Business class is always better then Economy or WTP. I have flown them before, and service has always been excellent. Their seat might be a bit dated but still very comfortable for a long flight.

+1

I think ET provides value for money in business class and I would not hesitate to chose them over coach or WTP. Plus, if the OP is flying via IAD he gets the new lie-flat seats on the B777 and not what has been described in the trip report ExpatSomchai. The only negative in my view would be IFE - even on the new planes, the IFE selection is inferior compared with what is offered by other airlines in coach. This might be a consideration on long day flights - I usually bring a book or watch movies on the laptop.

Does anyone know if ET's YYZ-ADD flight is operated with a 777 with lie flat seats as well?

Yes, the new ET nonstop flight from YYZ and ADD will be operated with the B777-200LR. The business class seats are lie-flat at an angle on this aircraft in a 2x3x2 configuration.

Yep, I'm happy to confirm this as well.
