Hello, my wife, daughter (age 11), and I, after five gays in a ger camp, will be spending three days in UB, based at the Ramada. This will be July 10th to 12th, which I know will be Naadam. I am just wondering if during this time, it will be possible to see the major sights, and a bit of the festival as well, without booking full-day organized tour stuff in advance. Asked in another way, will the city just be too buzy/crazy/closed down to allow seeing things on our own like we are used to doing?

Also would welcome advice about what time to leave the city for an 11:20 PM MIAT flight to Beijing.

Thanks!

The Mongolian Presidency elections are held on the 28th of June and this years election is very exciting. There are a lot of political games going on (the former president has been arrested for corruption charges) etc. So timing might be just right (or not) depending the outcome of the elections and how the people will react.

As in terms of leaving the Ramada to the airport - at that time it should take you about an hour+
