Hi FTers-
We're considering a move to Lusaka. I have found relatively little information on-line, and so would be grateful for any links, information, pointers, email lists, etc., especially regarding expat life there with family / young kids.
Many thanks in advance!
Michael
This seems to be a good site: http://www.internations.org/lusaka-expats/guide. But you will need to register.
Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion.
Internations is OK. I am a member already. There are other similar sites, but so far I haven't found any with great information.
I'm hoping that there may be some FTers who live (or used to live) in Lusaka and who may know / be able to point me to information that is harder to find...

Well it has been a long time but we lived there for 3 years in 1990-1993.
It was a great place. We were able to visit several other countries while living there and also go to the game parks. I understand that things are a whole lot better now.

Forget about Lusaka there is absolutly nothing to do or see outside of one of the few international Hotels, go ahead to the victoria falls,

I've been to both places, and while I agree that as a tourist, the Falls are more interesting, I would rather live and work in Lusaka (which is what my post was about).
And in any case, while Lusaka may be sleepy, I disagree that the only things of interest there are at "one of the few international Hotels"...but different strokes and all that.

I know a number of people in Lusaka (native Zambians, white Zambians and expats) and they all enjoy it. Plus that is a really beautiful part of the world with a good climate. Easy trips to Malawi, etc.
