As per title, I residein Singapore and would like to spend some of my ROP miles to redeem hotel awards for Bangkok. Anyone did it before?

I've booked hotels several times from the USA. First contact Royal Orchid Plus to redeem miles for a voucher.
[https://www.thaiair.com/AIP_ROP/AwardRedemption] It will probably take 3 or 4 weeks to get the voucher.

Then you contact the hotel that you want to book. I've always done it by email.
[https://www.thaiair.com/frequent-flyer/en/asia-pacific-awards-participating-hotels.htm] The hotel typically asks that a copy of the voucher be sent. You can do it by fax, but I usually scan the voucher and send it as a jpg or pdf attachment to an email.

Wouldn't the miles be better used towards a free flight? You get more value for your miles that way. Besides, hotels in BKK are already (relatively) cheap.

Well, I clock over a 150k miles a year with Thai and I fly mostly to EU in J, with stopover in Bangkok, so sometimes I would like to book into a good hotel for a few days before the homeward bound flight. :) I have more then enough miles in the bank to redeem free flights for the family too....
