Virgin Australia Velocity - hhonors diamond

Can anyone report how long it took to be comped hhonors diamond status after requesting it through their velocity account. I'm at 3 weeks and still waiting... Thanks.

Anything from a few days to having to call CS after 4 weeks or more ...

My complimentary Hhonors Gold membership took about 10 weeks to arrive. They gave me 2 years though so that was good.

My account was updated about 6 weeks after I submitted the claim. Unfortunately that was 1 day after I checked out from the stay I had wanted it for.

Your comp status will eventually come through, but expect to ever receive an actual card, no matter how many times you click the request card button or ring Hilton Honors the card never seems to make it from the US.

If you have opted out of any communications from them (email, snail-mail, etc.), they treat it as though you don't want a card, either.

You may want to change your preferences and then ring them again.

Both myself and +1 were upgraded 7-10 days after request.
Mine was requested early Jan, his late April.
No phone calls or chasing either
And I was sent 2 Diamond cards in my name 3-4 weeks after status upgrade ^

My requested Diamond card arrived yesterday - but I did request a card immediately my status showed up on line.

What happens with these complimentary statuses after a year? Do you have to apply for them again?

I applied for the comp last Wednesday and my online HH status was updated exactly seven days (today) after requesting via the Velocity account.

I haven't processed the HH Diamond card yet. So, the deal is 12 months status? Then do you get a soft landing to Gold after twelve months?

No soft landing - with 11 stays/16 nights last year I went from BIB Diamond earned in 2010 to BIB Silver 1st April this year. The match returned me to diamond.

The T&C's are noted when you apply for the status grant - that's the minimum you can expect (i.e. 6 months Diamond status increased to 12 months if four eligible stays within that first 6 months).

datapoint - applied recently for HH diamond, got matched within 5 days

Just returned from several Europe Hilton stays and got Suites as diamond .. very nice. :)

And a replacement card arrived today after losing the first one so they do occur.

I never can follow the Hilton plan - are their requals based on rolling years or calendar years for Gold/Diamond?

Calendar year! (28 Stays or x nights or 100K base points)

It you initiated your Velocity Plat diamond benny year and had the requisite four stays within six months you have diamond until end March 2013.

If you initiated that benefit this year, with the fours stays it should last until Match 2014.

Don't Hilton has a "rolling year" type deal where if you get 28 stays in any 12 month period it requals?

I lose track of their system .. seems hard to follow. :mad:

Is this a 2011 as i checked in then or a 2012 as I checked OUT then!
