Returning to VCE at end of cruise and need a hotel and transfer to airport the next morning. Does anyone have a suggestion for both at a reasonable price. We have never been in VCE and do not know the area. Thank you.
Italy - VCE hotel after cruiseView Full Version : VCE hotel after cruise mrlasssen May 2, 12, 5:35 pm Returning to VCE at end of cruise and need a hotel and transfer to airport the next morning. Does anyone have a suggestion for both at a reasonable price. We have never been in VCE and do not know the area. Thank you. tangoll May 3, 12, 4:00 am Last year August I stayed one night pre-cruise at the Best Western Hotel Olimpia in Piazza Roma bus/train terminus area. The bus takes about 25 minutes to airport, and the monorail from Port Maritima is about a 5 minute walk from hotel. Price was 145 euros after 10% senior citizen discount, plus a 3 euro per person per night city tax. You can find hotel and details on the bestwestern.com booking website. Hotel was fine, small rooms, but clean and tidy. OK breakfast. And about a 15 minute walk to San Marco Square. slawecki May 3, 12, 7:43 am if you are a cruise person, just walk from the cruise drop off through some of venice, catch a bus at p roma to vce. and stay at the airport hotel. you did not mention time of departure. most flights leave early. mrlasssen May 3, 12, 9:31 am What is the name of the hotel and how do you book it? Can you take a bus back to VCE for the rest of the day? The flight leaves about mid morning the following morning from deboarding. JelloBiafra May 7, 12, 3:00 pm Dansker? Hotels IN Venice (the island in the center) are expensive, old and there sometimes is a shared bathroom in the hall. That being said, its a charming neighbourhood. Expect to pay 100 Euros for a night for a 2 star hotel if you are staying at center island. One more thing walls are paperthin lots of noise. Im going on a cruise landing in Venice July 30th and are probably gonna stay at Bernardi hotel for a couple of days. bdemaria May 7, 12, 3:26 pm Hotels IN Venice (the island in the center) are expensive, old and there sometimes is a shared bathroom in the hall. As llong as the OP avoids 1 star establishments, there should be no problem w/shared bathrooms. To the OP: it is difficult to answer your question w/o knowing your price range and priorities. Do you simply want a place near the airport? If so, then the Marriott Courtyard is your best bet. Or, are you interested in seeing the city as well? |
