Need to host a small family dinner immediately after memorial service on Friday. Address of chapel is 1927 westoremoreland ave, off of broad.
used to know Richmond fairly well, and remember this isn't near much of anything!
Only 10 - 12 people, not the types who would like Korean, Thai, or some clever little place in the Fan. - Italian would probably work best. Certainly not a festive occasion, and some will need to head to the airport after...so don't want a Southside location.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated...
TIA...
Sorry to hear about your loss. If some will need to head to the airport after the dinner, why not host it near the airport?
I'm partial to microbrews/brewpubs, but what about:
Legend Brewing Company321 West Seventh Street, Richmond, VA
Tel: +1 804 232 3346
Richbrau Brewing Company and Restaurant1214 East Cary Street, Richmond, VA
Tel: +1 804 644 3018
My condolences.
Comfort is on Broad Street between your memorial service and the airport. I've never met someone who didn't like the restaurant, mostly basic fare done incredibly well (roast chicken, pork chops, etc.). They do host private events - not sure what they can do last minute. http://www.greenolivemedia.com/comfort/index.htm
For Italian, I like La Grotta. It is downtown in the Shockoe area, but that's only 15 minutes from your memorial and afterwards it would be easy to hop on the highway a few blocks away to head to the airport. Again, they do private events. http://lagrottaristorante.com/
I'm not very familiar with restaurants in the airport area, but from what I've seen while driving by, they are mostly chain restaurants.
Most of my other preferred restaurants are too small to hold a group and/or a little too eclectic for your needs. Both of these should fit your needs with good food and service.

Thanks to both of you. Kipper, I may be taking myself to your recommendations afterwards, but for this group, comfort will probably hit the mark.
google maps and "around me" came up with suggestions ranging from 7-11 to the fancy steakhouse otherise known as outback, so these suggestions were stellar.
Will call comfort and hopefully they can accommodate. Will be at 4:30 or so on Fri, definately eat and run...so hopefully...^
Kind of sad though...saw my post on Johns Hopkins in this forum...2 posts asking for help with the same person - in the first I was hopeful, in this one, just...grateful.
Thank you again.
