Marriott Rewards (including Ritz-Carlton) - Getting Ritz to give nights credits for multiple rooms

I realize that the official position is that multiple rooms at the Ritz booked under the same name allow you to earn points for all the rooms. When it comes to the number of nights, however, the official position is that you do not earn multiple nights credit regardless of the number of rooms that are booked under your name.

Have any of you been able to bypass this restriction and, if so, how?

No. I've heard of it happening (very, very rarely) by mistake, but it's not something you can ask for and expect them to yield on.

This is what I was afraid of but was hoping that some people have figured out a way around it or perhaps a good argument that works at least some of the time.

No ideas or suggestions? Sorry for bumping the thread but I just wanted to check one last time.

No means no.

No means no.I guess that's fair if that really is the answer. All too many times I have come across situations where the answer is "no" only because the question wasn't phrased properly or wasn't directed to the right people. Hence, the reason for my thread.

If there was a way to do this, the folks here would know. As far as I know no chain gives "nights" for multiple rooms on the same night at the same hotel. Let me know if I'm wrong.

I recently booked 2 rooms at a Ritz. We stayed in one and my parents stayed in the other; both were booked in my name. My parents had a shorter stay so after their stay, got MR points (and 2 days) quickly posted to my account. We stayed a total of 6 days, but after 6 weeks or so, no MR points or nights (their 2 nights were the first 2 nights of our 6 night stay). Eventually, I mailed my receipt to MR. After about 1.5 weeks, they removed the points and nights for my parents' stay and added the points and nights for my stay.

Reading this thread, it seems like I should get the points for their 2 nights (though not the 2 night credit)? Is that right? I thought I could only get one set of points per night (since I can't physically be in more than one place at a time?)?

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you should get points but not nights.

Yes, you should get points but not nights.Right, getting points is not an issue. Getting nights credited has been a problem, however.

The best way to insure getting the points is have the charges from their folio moved to yours otherwise you end up in the situation you are in.
