Hi all,

I am browsing for award ticket through my United MP and saw that for PEK-JFK, I have the option of either going Qatar Business for 60k UA miles one way, or Air China First for 70k miles one way (both use on a Boeing 777-300ER). Now, I get the sense first class>business class, but I also know that Qatar has rave reviews everywhere. So if you were me, would you take Qatar business, or AC first for 10k more miles?

Thanks!

I would go with Air China just cause that seat looks very nice and comfortable, not sure about the service but you will definately get a good sleep from the looks of it.

QR Business on the 777 its probably one of the best ones out there.

Also, by flying on QR you get the much longer route and hence you get more premium flying time and the use of the Premium Terminal.

So take that into consideration.

I have taken both of these options and find them comparable. First is always better than biz, of course; although CA's first is not a world leader, and QR's business is possibly the best in the world, I would still give the nod to CA slightly. It is a fully flat seat with good Chinese food and attentive service. (Though the in-flight entertainment will likely be far better on QR.) I'd probably choose CA first. Maybe considering the slight extra cost on CA, it's a toss-up.

As Omar84 mentions, it also depends what you're interested in -- getting there faster (CA) or more flying and the chance to see a new airport and new city (QR).

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback everyone! All things equal I'm interested in getting home faster, and so I booked first through CA. Looking forward to it ^
