I notice that there are Swiss flights operated by Ai rFrance from CDG to GVA. Do they earn *alliance miles, and can I use a lounge as a *Gold? Thx

The lack of answers probably stems from the fact nobody in their right mind would buy tickets on these LX codeshares, since AF tickets for the same flights are much cheaper (LX appears prohibited from using the lowest buckets), can be changed for a fee (even the cheapest AF R fare), and have better availability (LX has either very few seats allocated and/or on some flights only).

The LX prices make no sense cpm-wise even for the most dedicated Star Alliance flyer.

Thanks. Since my post I noticed the crazy fare difference - at first I just thought I was not searching too carefully. This partnership is clearly some type of holdover from a previous alliance......And most people take the train I imagine, unless they are connecting.

I have once or twice taken these flights booked as LX flights, probably booked last minute.
The lounge situation is horribly complex which is why I hesitated replying, not being sure any more and these things are in any case liable to change.
I believe you may (and the may is because it depends on who you encounter guarding the lounge) have access if you have an LX ticket and obviously the right to enter the lounge. However, things get complicated if you have a low-end economy ticket and FTL card. Your chances of getting into the lounge (which are pretty miserable anyway) go down.
If you have an AF ticket, you have no chance (unless you're in business or have a suitable AF/KL card).

If you can take TGV Lyria instead of flying. The experience is a lot nicer, especially with first class tickets that can be had for as little as 78€ one-way. You get a newspaper, full cold meal service at your seat in first class.

I may be one of the most devoted people to flying out there, but the TGV experience has won me over on Geneva to Paris.

Actually the LX codeshare flight compared to outtright AF on the same flight would make sense only in the case of a connection in GVA to or From Paris. The problem is that GVA has no more valid LX connections from anywhere worthwhile, the only long range flight being to/from JFK, and such a connection can be arranged more easily via Zurich (no terminal change).

And earn only award miles, not status or HON miles.

From an awards standpoint, this flight is not bookable with AE points, all it shows are flights connecting in ZRH
