Los Angeles - 2+ hours connection time in LAX
How difficult would be to make this connection in two and a half hours in LAX from Terminal 2 to the Terminal 7? Can I stay airside during transfers?
Any airside terminal transfer busses/trains I should know about beforhand?
First flight is "international" (from YYZ), second flight is domestic(to HNL)
Toronto (YYZ) to Los Angeles (LAX Terminal 2)
16/10/12 8:20 AM - 10:31 AM
UNITED 8321 AIR CANADA
Los Angeles (LAX Terminal 7) to Honolulu (HNL)
16/10/12 1:00 PM - 3:44 PM
UNITED 781
Thanks

There is no airside terminal transfer from Terminal 2 to 7. If you are in a hurry and have little luggage, it may be quicker to walk. Terminal 1 and 8 are located at the tips of a "U". The airport terminals are situated like that.
If the plane is one hour late, you will still have enough time to connect without running.

2.5 hours should be more than enough time to connect, especially since you'll clear US customs and immigration in YYZ (I think). Check out the LAX map in this previous post (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18436989-post119.html) of mine -- if you aren't carrying a lot of stuff, it's indeed very easy to walk from T2-T7 following "East Way - Lower Level."
Thank you for the map and directions. I was just hoping to be able to board the outbound flight without waiting in line for having my shoes re-scanned by TSA, but I undrstand there is no way to avoid that :)
Are both flights on the same PRN and/or ticketed all the way through? If so, I think you can make this connection without much drama. You will pre-clear immigration and customs in Canada so your arrival is the same as domestic arrival... you just exit the plane. And if you checked your luggage directly to HNL (don't see why not...) then you can just walk at a leisurely pace to T7.
