Staying at this downtown property in a couple
weeks as a Diamond. What can I expect? Any
ideas on doing stuff in area? Thanks

RTWSTARALLIANCE,
I stayed a Saturday night last December there. The RC was open and I was given a normal room on the RC floor. Small lounge but pretty standard for a domestic business class Hyatt. Nice Atruim, I didn't try any of the restaurants. The Inner Harbor is connected by a 2nd floor bridge as is the convention center. There is a light rail stop about 5 minutes away right next to Camdem Yards. You can take light rail directly from the airport and it takes a little over 30 minutes. The Inner Harbor is pretty cool to walk around with shops and bars and restaurants and the such. The aquirium is right there. Other things to consider is going to a baseball game if the O's are in town. The Babe Ruth museum is close by. There's a railroad museum close. Also, there are 2 water taxi companies that operate from the inner harbour and a day's pass is around $5. Fell's Point is a quick water taxi ride away.

FWIW, my experience here is much like Applefans! It's a great location and the service is very good here, IMHO. Got a standard RC floor room as well.

Generally, a very nice property indeed, with portions that could well be renovated.

Pretty decent gym, and an outdoor pool and tennis courts, as well as basketball (6th floor), all free in the summer months! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The property is usually very busy if not completely full, and thus the elevator/time issue may arise, as well as difficulty getting a late checkout if you should want it.

I also food the food here to be quite good and hope to also get another 1000 GP points as well for trying it again! Thanks Hyatt! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

My only real difficulty here was some really VERY loud guests! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

One other very nice touch is that the new Front Desk manager/supervisor, or whatever, Mark, came over to personally welcome me back to the hotel and hand me the keys etc and to avail himself to me in any way I might need.

They also have convienient self parking for $15 if you should need it, as well.

Hope this helps! Enjoy! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
