Alitalia MilleMiglia - Alitalia with connection or Easyjet non-stop?

I haven't flown Alitalia in years, never flown Easy jet.
For a flight from Paris to Palermo - they price the same, but connections both ways with Alitalia. Easyjet non-stop. Any advantage to using Alitalia? Better planes or service at all?

Pros for Alitalia:
*Better comfort seats (more legroom), snack and drinks offered.
*Check if EasyJet includes hold luggage, on Alitalia is always included.
*In case of delay or cancellation Alitalia has many flights a day so you can get on the next one, easyjet you might have to wait a few days.
Pros for Easyjet:
*Direct flight, so much shorter I presume.
I would go with easyjet because you save a lot of time, as long as you don't mind queuing and less comfortable seats. Note that drinks are quite expensive onboard easyjet.
If you are not a FF member and have no access to lounges whatsoever, I would definitely go EasyJet.

I've flown U2 a couple of times and it's fine. They might "ding" you with a couple of fees like using your own credit card "processing fee" (ugh), but making connections is frequently asking for trouble. A late inbound can mess things up royally. Also, unlike MXP, for U2 at ORY and PMO you're not relegated to a "low cost" terminal far away from anything.
