Anyone have an experience with this hotel? It's my first visit to Singapore and the hotel is priced reasonably and gets good reviews. Anyone stay here before? Looking for a good base for a few days to explore and something easy to/from airport.

I don't know how to say it, but the Park Hotel Clarke Quay would probably not be my top pick for a first trip to Singapore, but once you know the city and have been here for many years it would be one of the best places to stay at location-wise. :) And if you were to live here this is right where you'd want to be.
You are right on Robertson Quay which is one of the nicest places to hang out in the evenings, take long walks along the river, etc. You can walk to the Esplanade, Orchard (regarded as the true "downtown"), Chinatown, the CBD (boring), etc., or take a short taxi ride if you prefer.
Make sure you get a deluxe room on the higher floors and most importantly racing the river/swimming pool.
When you exit the hotel you will see a bar/restaurant across the street called "District 10." Enter the doors just to the left of it and take the escalator up to get to the supermarket if you need anything.
In the evenings you're right where all the action is. Follow the river in one direction and you'll quickly come to Clarke Quay (if you keep going but cross to the other side of the river you'll end up at Boat Quay), whereas all the bars/restaurants at Robertson Quay are right next to the Park Hotel. See that Building next to the hotel called "Robertson Walk - Fraser Place?" Their courtyard is very busy at weekends as is the walkway leading to the river from there.
P.S. Have you checked the Swissotel Merchant Court (incl. their official web page) for prices/availability?

Thanks. Yes, I was looking at Swissotel Merchant as well...are they both close to one another? Is it better? Both are comparably priced. Do you know if there is closely located public transportation for exploring the city?
Both are on opposite sides of CQ, I often stay at the Swissotel though they haven't revamped their rooms in ages, at least the Classic ones (still old-style CRT television sets). The Park Hotel is brand new, but by the size listed on their site the rooms don't seem to be that big.
Swissotel definitely wins on the public transportation front as it's next to the subway (MRT), but then I'm not sure how often you'll be making use of it. Plus you have buses close to the Park Hotel that will take you to some of the key places, and with the right iPhone app you can even know in how many minutes your bus will be there (some bus stops even have screens showing this).
If you'll be hanging out at Roberton Quay in the evenings then obviously the Park Hotel is right there next to it, and I think you'll find it much more pleasant than the establishments at Clarke Quay which tend to cater more to the typical tourist crowd.
