Southwest Rapid Rewards - Companion Pass Inquiry

Please forgive me if this question has already been answered. I didn't see anything in the WN forum.
I'm very close to getting the companion pass on WN. My wife and I have some upcoming travel to book and she and I were hoping to have the companion pass already. If she transfers her points to my account, will those points from her count toward the companion pass?
If they do, how long does it take for WN to issue the companion pass?
Thanks.

WN points can't be transfered from one persons account to another. I would book her flights with her points. Then when the CP comes in cancel those flights and rebook with CP.

Are you sure about that? Historically, I've been able to transfer to another WN member to book a free flight for them. Has WN changed their policy?
In my experience, after earning all the points for CP, it took a few days for me to be able to add my wife as my companion. I would recommend at least go ahead and book your travel using points. CP can be added at any time as long as there is a seat available.

Yes, you can book a ticket for another passenger using your own points/standard awards, but at least over the last 12 years, you've never been able to transfer credits/points from one RR account to another.
Regardless of history, though, your wife can not transfer RR points from her account into yours. Other airlines allow this (BA first comes to mind), but definitely not WN.

I've called Southwest to inquire about point transfers for my wife. The rep specifically reiterated the above.

Maybe a misunderstanding. Certainly you can use points to book a flight for someone else. You just can't transfer points to someone elses account.
