My young adult inexperienced traveller niece has a 1hr connection in FRA and I am nervous for her.

If her gates are the same as today, she will arrive at A13 (from VCE) and depart from B25 (USA). Is this conenction too tight for her? Is any immigration required?

Thanks

Have you checked the following thread in the Miles & More forum?

Your niece will have to clear passport control though it should not add too much to the transfer time. If her incoming flight is on time she should be ok but one hour is very tight for an international connection in FRA. I wouldn't book an inexperienced traveller on flights with such a tight connection.

I wouldn't book myself for one hour on this connection.
Granted I haven't flown FRA in over a year, but for US bound flights* there are two levels of security to clear for originating PAX, one level for connecting pax.

I wouldn't do less than a 2 hour, and I knoe FRA pretty well.

*Don't remember if that is for US carriers or all carriers. I can't imagine a distinction being made.

No additional security for US-bound pax at the moment AFAIK.

NewbieRunner is correct. As of 4 weeks ago, no additional security is required for transit from a EU flight - especially a Schengen flight! - to a US flight. Passport control shouldn't cause more than a 5 minute delay. However... the walk from A13 to B25 could easily take 15 minutes. If the flight from VCE is delayed at all, this could be difficult...
