I was looking at Z availability for JFK-FCO, it seems every flight I check has 2 seats available. Is that the max that shows up on Expert Flyer for AZ? If I took those two would two more open up? Looking to get family of 4 over there 1st qtr '13. Thank you.

AZ not generous on "opening up" J seats on longhaul flights - especially on US destinations

Often you find that there are only one or two seats available (if any) but sometimes I have seen more seats

Will seats open up after booking first two tickets??

Nobody can answer that Q.. Have actually just redeemed an AMEX 2 4 1 companion voucher (albeit for August) and on my flight there were only two seats available.. A week after booking and the flight still shows 0 for Z so you just can't tell...

If you accept flying classica + you'll find it a lot easier (normally) to find reward seats to JFK

Good luck and let us know!

thank you for the info, I did see one date that had 3 available, DL has 4 available to JFK-FCO the dates I was looking, but boy the J in AZ is much more appealing then J in the old 763 on DL metal

I THINK that DL uses an old NW 330 on the JFK - FCO

Anyway no doubt - in J AZ any day of the week. Seat miles better^

If you take 3 seats you should be OK for another opening up
