Hey first post here. My wife and I (no status, flying coach) have a long (12 hr) layover at CDG and we wanted to shower and freshen up a bit before we head into the city. I have researched the 30-day SkyClub pass, and it seems like it should work, but I'm not sure. On the SkyClub locator website it looks like the only lounge we could access is a lounge in 2E that is on the lower level after security (airside).

I was wondering if we could access that lounge upon our arrival to CDG (arriving in 2E from BOS, AF flight)? Since the lounge is airside, could we make it to that lounge or would we be funneled straight to security first? It has been several years since I have been to CDG.

As an alternative, I have read about the Ibis hotel at CDG and was wondering if that would be a better option instead of trying to go to the lounge.

Any feedback would be appreciated--thanks

Hi no27 and welcome to FlyerTalk!

There is no Arrivals Lounge in terminal 2E. It is located in the terminal 2C, and not accessible to Sky Club pass holders.

And yes the Ibis would certainly be a much better alternative and is usually reasonably priced. Other hotels such as the Sheraton (which is the only one accessible by foot) are more convenient and more luxurious but also far more expensive even for day rooms if I'm not mistaken.

And according to Air France representatives at the DO, there will be no new arrival lounge at short terme (i.e when S4 opens in a few weeks) due to budgetary constraints. This will result in an amazing situation ; AF will fully abandon terminal 2C... Except the arrival lounge.
