San Francisco - Restaurant recommendation between Cow Hollow and SFMOMA

There is nothing like recommendations from a local. We (hubby & adult daughter) are arriving in SF tomorrow morning. After dumping bags, etc. at our rented apartment on Lombard St. in Cow Hollow we are headed to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. We are looking for lunch/brunch near either location or enroute. Any suggestions? I have some places mapped, but I've never been sorry to get recommendations from this forum. Thanks in advance!:)

If it's not too late, try Rose's Cafe on Union Street (cross Steiner).
La Cucina, also on Union, is a well known neighborhood place too. Just do not go to iHop or anywhere on Lombard itself.

Similarly, look at restaurants on Chestnut, or Steiner between Chestnut and Lombard. For example, Tacolicious is a great and really fun lunch spot Chestnut between Steiner and Fillmore). Even more informal is Plant (Steiner between Chestnut and Lombard) but very healthy and delicious. Both offer tourist-free atmosphere. Pretty well any busy place in that area will do you proud.

We tried Amber India last night and it was wonderful. I can highly recommend. I am writing down the other suggestions, because I'm sure they are ones we will consider. Thanks again for all the input.^
