I stayed in an upscale accor hotel the other day and had a glance at the daily news report of the hotel. Besides information on the overall rooms, the occupanc rate (in total and %) the average daily rate and some other performance figures the report also listed the VIP arrivals and VIPs already staying in the hotel including their room no, status and reason. The reason was either corporate VIP or regular guest and the status was VIP2 or VIP.

So just out of curiosity I wanted to ask if someone of you know what it needs to be listed as a VIP (either corporate or regular guest)? Are you VIP at this hotel only or chainwide? The only thing that I am very sure of is the fact that VIP status as most likely nothing to do with the Le club status.

Best,
totti

No idea, but I'm pretty sure it is not me considering some recent experiences :D

Thanks for your reply. I am not a VIP either based on my recent experience. Interesting though that it seems to be kind of a secret how to become or qualify as a VIP. I doubt that it is of any relevance anyway ;)

According to Internet knowledge, you'd be VIP-3 ; and as the OP reports that it wasn't mentionned, you can guess that the gap between lower VIP and the true one is huge ;)

The name rang a bell: it was discussed in the press when DSK's improved room service was discussed. I can't provide you with a link but basically VIP-1 and VIP-2 are for public political figure and commercially important people it seemed. The discussion at that time discussed the briefing of the staff to show them pictures of the "true VIP" before their arrival so they could recognize them.

Afaik there are different ways on how to obtain VIP-Status. This includes high revenue guests to the property, to the chain as well as being an important public figures but also your club accor status.

Classic and Silver have VIP-1, Gold VIP-2 and Platinum VIP-3.

... the VIP arrivals and VIPs already staying in the hotel including their room no, status and reason. They make their room number public????? And as for the "reason", my un-educated guess is that they always list "sleeping"!
