Virgin America Elevate - Virgin America vs Virgin Atlantic

I am currently an Virgin America Elevate Frequent Flyer member - I flew with Virgin Atlantic recently but did not add a points number. Should I request to have those miles added to my Elevate program, or should open a new virgin Atlantic account and add them there? or perhaps I should use a third option??

Have the points credited to the account on the airline you expect to use the most.

I don't believe there is a third option.
