National - Are car rentals credits transferable?

Does any one know if National car rentals credits are transferable? can i give these credits to a friend/family for them to use (i will not be travelling with them)?

Years ago you could do this, but last time I tried they were very clear this was not permitted. Back when they were paper coupons they were fully transferable, but the electronic ones are not.

Tried to book a car for my wife, and was told I was the only one who could pick up the car on a free day, or even on a paid day with my Emerald account. They were more than happy to make a reservation for her, just not tied to my Emerald Account or with a free day coupon, unless it was some sort of coupon that had not been issued only to me. They did offer to open an Emerald Club account for her.

Only possibility is if you have 1/2 free days left.. those come as coupons and can be used by everybody..
