Hello everyone,

I have done some searching on the web and on the forum but haven't been able to reach a clear answer yet.

I have a five-hour layover in Changi and would like to go for a run. I want to run outside, rather than on the treadmills in the health clubs inside the terminals. I have SQ lounge access so can leave my luggage and shower afterwards.

My question is this: Does anyone know if there are sidewalks alongside the airport entry roads that will get me out of Changi down toward the ECP? Or will I be running on the roads themselves? (Which I have to believe would be illegal.)

I'd really appreciate any thoughts from the forum. Have a great night.

I was there for 15 hours last month. I remember seeing sidewalks outside of the intl. arrivals area at T1 when I got on the city tour bus. I don't remember seeing sidewalks on the road out. When I returned to T1, I went back through immigration and took the airside train to T3. I don't remember seeing sidewalks that would allow you a full run. The club might be a better bet. It is also very humid in Singapore, so another plus (IMHO) to use the club. Just my two cents.

I'd be tempted to get a bus or taxi out to the Changi Beach Park and run there...

Bear in mind you'll have to take your passport with you as well...

What happens if u dont have your passport?
Curious.

Chances of police stopping random joggers is low though.

No, you need your passport to get through immigration - the lounge is airside. I don't jog (built for opera, not speed) but can imagine a passport getting into a right state in Singapore humidity and close proximity to a sweaty body!

Hi everyone,

Thanks very much for the thoughtful replies. My trip is this Saturday morning; I think I am going to go for the taxi to Changi Beach Park idea, making sure to bring along my passport/onward boarding pass in a plastic bag and a towel. :-)

I'll provide a brief report. Thanks again and safe travels to everyone.
