Try to register at www.unitedmapyourdreams.com. See the promo discussion thread here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/united-mileageplus-consolidated/1340214-promo-explore-world-united-earn-up-25-000-bonus-award-miles.html).

This is a targeted promo offering bonus RDMs based on the number of roundtrips booked and flown from 4/15/12 to 7/15/12. I'm not eligible (probably because I "won" Months of Miles ;)).

Individual offers may vary, but the "main" one seems to be:

1 RT: 5K RDM
2 RT: 10K RDM
4 RT: 25K RDM

Four DEN-AMA runs cost $320. You'll get 4K EQM (after 500-mile minimums), 8 segments, and 33K RDM for 1Ks (500-mile minimum per segment plus 100% elite bonus = 8K RDM plus 25K promo bonus = 33K RDM).

Same-day $80 turns available on 6/1.

One-night $80 turns available on 5/27, 5/31. (Use same-day change to switch to same-day turn.)

Many $100 same-day turns are available through July, which would increase the cost to $400 for 33K RDM (still a fantastic deal).

I received the following offer:

2 RT/5K RDM
3 RT/10K RDM
5 RT/25K RDM

Trying to figure out the best way to get these miles ex-LAX-area.

Thanks for posting BryanIAH ^

Creative approach (as always it seems with you). Unfortunately the EQM payoff is not high enough for the amount of time I'd have to devote to get the miles.

I'm still trying to search more cities. IAH has a few possibilities (to be posted shortly) then I'll move to the coasts.

Best I can find out of SFO is SFO-MOD-SFO at $140 followed by SFO-LAX-SFO at $149.

Best I can find out of LAX is LAX-LAS-LAX at $94.

Edit to add: also, if you sign up for the TravelBank/united.com club at $25 for a year, but get back $5 per ticket booked, it can pretty quickly pay for itself.

Thanks for the reminder about the TravelBank. I have not been a member since 2007-2008 but it might be time to renew given this 25K promo going on...

Thanks Brian. Appreciate the creativity! ^

Offer I got was not nearly as good.

Earn 5,000 bonus award miles for 3 roundtrips, 10,000 bonus award miles for 4 roundtrips and a maximum of 25,000 bonus award miles for 6 roundtrips. Just purchase and fly on United before July 15, 2012, to any of the more than 370 destinations we serve.

This would be perfect, if UA gave me a reasonable offer, 7/8/9 doesn't make me want to fly any more in the next two and a half months, 1/2/4 or thereabouts would.

I don't know why they have a 7/8/9 offer. That just seems insulting.

Guess there is an advantage to not flying much this year. This Million Miler got the 1 = 5K, 2 = 10K, 4 = 25K offer.

Tried enrolling my wife who is Gold "by marriage", and she was not eligible.

Thanks OP for the head's up.

Even for non-Premier it's a great deal. DEN-AMA is 718 miles RT. To get 25k @ $100 each RT:
4 = 27,872 miles @ 1.43 cpm
5 = 28,590/1.75 cpm
6 = 29,308/2.05
7 = 30,026/2.33
8 = 30,744/2.6
9 = 31,462/2.86
I haven't heard of any 10 RT/25k offers...

Lowest out of SEA is $162 SEA-PDX. However, SEA-SFO is around $170, SEA-Greater LA a little over $200, and SEA-DEN $216-230. (Hmm, set up a SEA-DEN weekend with a DEN-AMA run or two...)

I'm considering a west coast segments-based status run. If you time it right you can get an affordable same-day turn with 5+ segments RT, sometimes 6+. It wasn't worth it just for status, but with +25k miles added...

I am a 1K based in DEN and have flown about 47K miles this year. I got this email a few days back and received the 4RT=25K miles promo.

I'm also not eligible. (I'm P-Gold, with 13 segments so far in 2012.)

I have a very productive dialog going with a Customer Care rep at UA. She replied to my last email within 12 hours, in a way that I found to be both professional and humorous, so I went ahead and added this promo story to the reply I just sent 5 minutes ago. I'll post if I learn anything new.

Thanks for posting these. I'm going to have to see if I can do better than the $120-ish IAD-JFK someone posted, as I got the 1/2/4 deal (and no, my travel is up compared to this point last year--I seriously think UA applies some kind of randomness to these targeted offers). I had 2 trips already booked in the promo period (boo!) and have subsequently booked 2 more, so I need to now find 2 cheapo MRs to max out the miles earned.

Got a 4/5/7 (too high, IMO) and already have travel booked every other week during this period. I don't know if I want to deal with trying to squeeze in even more travels. We'll see.

1/2/4 here, I probably banked 4,000 miles on UA last year, by accident :P Not that I don't like you guys, but I kept status with AC :P I have a couple of trips planned within this time period already but I'll be adding on a couple of cheap trips to make the 4.

If I change an existing flight on the day of the flight, (i am still Silver, so it will cost me $75) will it count as a flight for the Promo?

Most likely no, as that will not require reticketing, just reissuing.

I got that deal with Gold status. I also successfully enrolled my wife who is a real Silver, and nothing "by marriage." Odd.
The deal would be a lot better if it were PQM and not RDM. A lot of short SFO-LAS trips are coming up. They're usually not worth paying for, but with 25k RDM's, it's debatable. If it were 25k PQM's, it would be a no-brainer.

This feel like it should be a great deal for me, since I got the 1/2/4 offer, and as a not-very-frequent-flyer who's nowhere close to getting status I care more about the RDM than PQM. But I can't really make the math work out right to convince myself to fly some flights just for the miles.

Out of WAS, the cheapest flight I can find is IAD-JFK for $120. That's 456 miles flown, 5000 bonus miles, and, for me, 240 bonus miles if I use my Chase UA card for the purchase. That comes out to 2.1 CPM. But since my main goal with my RDMs is international economy awards, that doesn't seem like a no-brainer CPM rate, since so far I'm getting roughly the same CPM in value for my award bookings.

Should I be trying to think of it as it being close to breaking even, in terms of CPM spent vs expected value for my awards, that it's like getting an almost-free flight to New York (or whatever other destination works out reasonably well)? Or is it just not a good enough deal for my miles usage? Or am I just not in the proper FT MR mindset yet, and need to read more trip reports about luxurious trips in F? :)

Does anybody know if there is a way to track

1. If you are enrolled in the promo at all? I received the offer via email (7/8/9, as a Plat with 40 segments thus far in 2012), enrolled, but see no mention of it on my UA.com page.

2. How far along you are in the promo - i.e., how many RTs you have completed that meet the req's thus far?

Looks fairly opaque to me...would appreciate any insights, if there are any :rolleyes:

Thanks!

Just wondering how the 30 minute layover in AMA works out. It's unclear to me if it's the same plane (the schedule seems like it would allow them to cycle between DEN and IAH).
