While looking at the Ua: LAX-PVG $694ai thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mileage-run-deals/1340491-ua-lax-pvg-694ai.html) I found that JFK/EWR- PVG is not that bad either.
If you want to stay a few days the price goes down to $825.
