RNO-SLC is a short 422-mile flight, but with a creative routing this can be stretched to 3330 miles after 500-mile minimums. That's an increase of 689%!
Routing rules:
1. RNO-LAX-DEN/HOU/SFO-SLC
2. RNO-SFO-DEN/HOU/LAX-SLC

Just got back from one of these this week. SLC-IAH seems an easy upgrade (4/4 this year), and I even snagged an IAH-SFO upgrade as well.

Great find OP. BTW, DL has a fare that's $140 RT, books in U class. Anyone has any creative routing on that one? Thx~~

DL's routing rules specify nonstop flights.

Ive booked a couple of these for the fall about 1 month ago. Bad news is that they have schedule changed some of the Slc to iah flights to rjs. Good news is due to a misconnect I was able to get them to change some routings to slc-iah-smf-sfo-las on the wat home for a ton more miles.

How are you getting this? I can see cheap fares going through sfo but each time I try to add iah on ita it gives me a wacky price like $800-$1400! Thx
I can't even get the exact routing to price out. Seems like UA1574 and UA1200 (IAH - SLC) don't even exist anymore?
