Hey,

Tried to find posts on this, but not very informative.

How does this work?

I am a little confused. Called TK yesterday and wanted to book two paid tickets in business class roundtrip from Oslo to Sao Paulo. When booking online these were around 20000 NOK each (J/D class).

Since I am a gold member I can book one ticket at regular price and the companion ticket at 50% discount.

I was told that the total amount would be 46000 NOK. That would mean 23000 NOK each. I was told that the discount was applied.

This is not really any benefit at all, at least not for me. Maybe it is a benefit for TK - to charge the gold member more money.

I can have those flights for 40000 NOK if I book regular tickets online, and save 6000 NOK (more than 1000 USD). Those tickets were also flexible and cancellable without any fee.

Ridiculous!

It was a benefit once indeed and one of the reasons to join M&S.

You had to pay 50% of the fare for booking class C for your companion.None the less I spared about 150-200€ compared with 2 Tix in D.

Unfortunately they changed it in 2009 by adding '' 50% of the published IATA FARE ''.
The IATA Fares are Moon prices and this so called Benefit is nothing but a,sorry to say,piss-take !

So the companion pays 50% of YY IATA fare.
What does the Gold member pay?
The same? Any available TK business class fare?
TK C fare?

Does anyone have any more information on this?

As long as nobody answered, I'll add to my question:
What are the restrictions on such a booking? the ones inherited from the original booking?
Are both tickets eligible for miles?

While this benefit is not so great, it may be worthwhile for flexible tickets with cheap IATA fares. Ex some middle Middle east comes to mind.

I did an extensive internet search about this feature (also for other M&S features) previously but could find almost no info. Is there any other way to learn about such rules other than trial and error?

Thanks

Companion will pay 50% of the IATA C or J fare.
E/E+ has to have at least a full fare D.

Both Tix were eligible for miles.I don't use this service anymore thanks to the ridiculous prices,so I'm not up to date.
